AMDD releases “AMDD 10-year History and Beyond”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary since its founding, the American Medical Devices and Diagnostics Manufacturers' Association (AMDD) has released a special commemorative booklet entitled, “AMDD 10-year History and Beyond”, summarizing the milestones achieved in the decade since its founding in 2009.

The booklet spans ten years of activities going back to the days of the ACCJ Medical Devices/IVD Subcommittee, which was the previous incarnation of AMDD. Important themes covered include eliminating device lag and revisions made to the Pharmaceuticals Affairs Law. It also includes topics such as round-table discussions by expert members of the Central Social Insurance Medical Council (Chuikyo), changes made to the insurance reimbursement system over ten years, and forward-looking recommendations to continue efforts to improve Japanese healthcare.

Also presented is a look back at the various innovations made in medical devices and In-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) during these ten years, which have been improving the lives of patients across multiple disease areas.
